Every year we remember those who serve as our first responders. Whether police or firefighter, we honor their service to our community by stopping by their stations and saying, “Merry Christmas” with fresh boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts. Contact Steve Chandler or the church office (817) 221-2184 if you would like to participate.
The youth will meet at 10:00am at the NHBC parking lot and leave from there to go to the Springtown Middle School to participate with other youth groups in dodgeball.
We will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 4:30pm on Tuesday, March 5th. Some of the items we need to discuss:
- Collaboration with the Nominating Committee to fulfill background checks for prospective teachers who have given consent through the teacher application form. We need to determine how Nominating Committee needs get communicated to us, and how we communicate with applicant and Nominating Committee with background results.
- Determine who needs CPR training. (We have a scheduled CPR training session on Saturday, April 6 here at NHBC)
- We need to look at posting our church rules regarding carrying weapons, concealed or otherwise.
- We need to look at a weekly rotation of “on duty” safety persons in the church. We need substitutes in case of illness, etc.
- We have a new camera systems not yet installed to look outside the children/youth building. Placement, installation, etc.
- We need to determine dates and plans for at least bi-annual sexual abuse training for teachers, helpers, etc.
The WMU, Women’s Missionary Union, of New Hope Baptist Church, along with Steve and Quita McPheters, are providing and collecting Christmas shoeboxes to be filled with appropriate items to bless children across our world at Christmas time. We are collecting the boxes through November 10. Please pick up a shoe box provided at the church and get it filled for a needy child at Christmas. See the link for How to Pack a Shoebox.
