The Bible records the honest reaction among the followers of Jesus following accounts of His resurrection. They did not believe it! How could a man who was verifiably killed by crucifixion come back to life? Jesus knew that His resurrection and His gift of resurrection would be doubted by His most ardent followers. The journey of two of His followers to Emmaus was just one of the incidents over the next 40 days where Jesus made sure before His ascension, that all who believe in Him would live in the bold confidence of bodily resurrection.
