Health Update

July 3, 2020,

Sunday Services are at 11 am. As we negotiate these difficult times, we are trying to follow local guidelines in order to remain open for services.

Parker County issuedthe following statement:

“A Declaration of Local State of Disaster due to Public Health Emergency was issued on July 1, 2020 requiring face masks for individuals in areas open to the public where social distancing is not feasible and where it is estimated that 100 people or more are present. This order goes into effect Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 6:00 PM continuing through 6:00 p.m. on July 8, 2020, unless extended, modified or terminated early by the Parker County Judge or the Commissioners Court. It is strongly encouraged for individuals 10 years and older to wear a face covering in areas open to the public where it is difficult to keep six feet away from other people. Face masks may include homemade masks, scarfs, bandannas, or a handkerchief and should be worn over the nose and mouth. Individuals with a “significant mental or physical health risk” to wearing a mask do not have to comply with this ordinance. “

Dear Church,

As we face COVID together we want to practice safe corporate worship and learning. Due to the nature of the virus, we need to make it a priority to protect our elderly and health compromised.

We recommend each person to wear a mask when together and to wash or sanitize your hands often.

If someone should test positive for COVID after meeting together at church, we will need to practice self quarantine for 2 weeks, which means church will be online only during that time. Everyone is a potential carrier, and because we are all in this together, it is very important that there is no “COVID shaming” if someone does come down with the virus.

Beginning July 5th, worship will be meeting at our normal time of 11:00 AM, however Sunday School classes will continue to meet on an “at will” basis. Please contact your Sunday School teachers for more information.

Thank you for your diligence and patience as we all navigate this pandemic together.

You are greatly loved by the Lord and by New Hope Baptist Church and pastor,

March 17, 2020,

Dear Church,

  • We want to keep you informed regarding the Coronavirus and New Hope Baptist Church.
  • We are taking seriously the health threat for our senior adults and health-compromised
  • We will not have Wednesday night supper nor activities for youth and children.  The church will be open from 6:30-7:00pm for the purpose of prayer and live-streaming.  Prayer from home is good.
  • We will not have Sunday School this coming Sunday, but the church will be open from 11:00am to 12:00pm for the purposes of prayer and live-streaming.  Some may want to attend, but we do highly regard the advice of 10 or less in gatherings to fight the spread of this deadly virus.
  • We do want to pay close attention to the needs of our members and our community.  Children who not receive their meals at school going hungry, and senior adults with shopping needs, are just 2 of many concerns we have in our near future.  We are actively determining ways we can help meet these needs.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

  • PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR CHURCH- we publish sermons and calendar online, as well as online giving-       newhopeboyd.com

March 13, 2020,

Dear Church,

We will respond to the Corona Virus threat with wisdom, faith and love.  Wisdom does not ignore the facts, but responds according to God’s Word and guidance with the facts available to us.  Faith does not ignore God, but realizes He is above all things.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

This past Wednesday evening we looked to God’s Word to find comfort in these changing times, in this time of crisis throughout our world.  In times of crisis, God’s Holy people must stand out and be different from those without the assurance of God’s love through Jesus Christ.   Let your faith be bigger than your fear.  Let your calm be bigger than your panic.  God is in charge!

Psalms 91:5-6
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

Romans 8:28 (NKJV)
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

LOVE-  look out for one another, especially those that are most vulnerable- in this case, the elderly and the health-compromised.

FAITH-  our confidence and hope is in the Lord, therefore, PRAY with thanksgiving and petition.

WISDOM-  be good to your neighbor and walk humbly with your Lord

  • WASH YOUR HANDS REGULARLY
  • GREET WITH A WAVE OR FIST-BUMP, OR ELBOW BUMP- respect social distance
  • LET US KNOW OF SPECIAL NEEDS THAT WE MIGHT ASSIST
  • HELP KEEP SURFACES CLEAN
  • STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK OR FEELING ILL
  • PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR CHURCH- we publish sermons and calendar online, as well as online giving- newhopeboyd.com
